TARP (Thermal Analysis Results Processor)
  • TARP Training Notes
  • TARP (Thermal Analysis Results Processor) is a Windows(R) based post processing tool aimed at various finite-difference, thermal codes(e.g. SINDA/FLUINT, SINDA/G, ESATAN, etc). A user defines various TARP objects in the GUI which are then created as a Microsoft Excel(R) workbook upon execution.
  • TARP objects and features include:
    • DataSets: Worksheets containing the raw output data from the thermal solver
    • Plots: Charts of the data specified by the user as a function of time
    • Tables: Text data of single timesteps/parameters from the output, including Minimumns, Maximums, Limits, and Conditional Formatting
    • Groups: Simplification of collections of nodes (Average temperature, total heat load)
    • Parameters: Predefined functions using existing nodes (e.g. Max of Nodes)
    • HeatMaps: Interactive workbook that allows a user to examine heat flows between nodes and/or groups at any output timesteps
    • Sessions: Allow a user to save all defined objects to a text file for later modification or adjustment
  • This class will go through a lecture portion introducing each of the above objects and highlight the available features of each. It will then be followed by a hands on portion where the user will create the objects in the GUI and generate the corresponding output workbook.
